A Vietnamese yoga teacher claims she hasn’t eaten solid food for 40 years
When it comes to health, there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Although it can be hard to go wrong with eating healthy and exercising regularly, some have achieved amazing results using alternative methods such as the keto diet.
For a yoga teacher from Vietnam, her diet is more funky than most because she doesn’t eat solid food at all.

Instead, she has lived only on flavored, juicy water for the past 40 years.
Yoga teacher stopped eating solid food on doctor’s advice
The 63-year-old woman known as Ngon claims to have started her unusual diet after a series of debilitating health issues.
According to the Vietnamese website Việt Giải Trí, she had frequent stomach pains and deteriorating eyesight at the age of 21.
Tests revealed that she had a blood disease, but her condition remained poor even after a series of treatments.

At about that time, a doctor approached her and advised her to switch to a fluid-only diet.
Tell her she can add sugar and salt to her water and even drink fruit juices if needed, but that solids aren’t allowed.
Due to the questionable scientific legality of the advice and fear of backlash, the doctor refused to name himself.
However, Ngon’s health is claimed to have improved and she continued her lifestyle even after the doctor’s death.
The family threatened to go on hunger strike in protest
At first, the yoga teacher’s family strongly protested her new diet.
They even threatened a hunger strike to discourage it.
However, they eventually reconciled with her after noticing that Ngon’s health had improved.
Since then, she drinks 4 liters of water a day, along with lemon juice mixed with salt and sugar.

Njoon usually starts her day by drinking a liter of water for the first half hour.
Apart from this, she also takes sugarcane juice, coconut water, and orange juice.
However, there have been times when you get bored of just drinking water, which you solve by sucking a cube of sugar and washing it down with water.
The yoga teacher claims that challenging yoga poses are easy for her
Aside from diet, Ngoon has also been exercising regularly through her career as a yoga teacher.
She claims that she can easily hold challenging yoga poses and lift her body 10cm off the floor with her hands.

Having obtained certification as a physician, Ngon is currently a member of the Acupuncture Association in Long An, the county in which she resides.
The way she sees it, and her efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle is her way of paying her doctor to save her life.
However, she does not advise anyone else to follow in her footsteps as it may be dangerous to their health.
The human body works in mysterious ways
Although Ngon’s story may be unusual, we are glad that she has finally found a way to live her recovery and her health.
Before embarking on a new diet or making changes to your diet, it is highly recommended that you consult a professional or dietitian first.
