Westburg – Tucked in an industrial building near the downtown roundabout, there’s a shop with a treasure trove of handmade items, many local: cutting boards, greeting cards, and bags, arranged on shelves, tables, and walls within the small space.
Owner Holly Kinney named the shop, Elsie Kaye Glassworks, because of her daughter’s pronunciation of her daughter’s initials — L, C, K — although some customers still think her name is Elsie.
Kenny started taking flame classes for making glass beads when her daughter was young and Kenny wanted to take some time for herself. She started making glass beads and giving lessons from her basement before moving to the Westborough space.

Kenny hopes to move soon to a new location with greater visibility and event space.
Although things have been quieter since the pandemic, the store is offering a full schedule of classes this fall including tasting books, essential oils, silver rings and a silver stamp, as well as glass bead making for teens and adults.

She said that mastering glass bead making is all about “practice, practice, practice.” “It takes a while to start flowing… It’s really about controlling the glass and using gravity.”
Here are some unique date night ideas from around the MetroWest.
