Autumn is my all time favorite season. It (ultimately) brings a welcome change in temperature, the excitement of a new school year, football mania, the lead-up to the holidays—and all the holiday hustle that accompanies them. Along with busy schedules and all that excitement comes the need to pay close attention to our stress levels and do everything we can to keep our lives calm. Our October features focus on self-care, home organization, and achievable strategies you can use to manage your anxiety level and regain control during a very busy time. Pharmacist and self-care strategist Dr. Alisha Reed presents a step-by-step self-care action plan heading towards holiday frenzy. Cure by Design New Orleans unites the community behind the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives from cancer. Join the support of the American Cancer Society in the first event of the season, Cure by Design New Orleans Gala presented by the Ochsner Cancer Institute, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Mardi Gras World. The event starts with a cocktail hour from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a champagne lounge and entertainment by Truffle Honeys and Oui Dats. The party, hosted by local favorite, Garrett Hartley, and Fox 8 Anchor, Kelsey Davis, will start at 8:00 p.m. and go into the night, ending at 11:00 p.m. Cure by Design proceeds will directly benefit Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge, located on River Road in New Orleans. Hope Lodge provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers.
