Heartfulness Education Trust and ICAR sign memorandum of understanding on yoga in universities

Hyderabad: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Heartfulness Education Trust to offer yoga at ICAR-affiliated universities.

The deal was signed at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the world’s largest meditation hall at Heartfulness’s headquarters.

The signing ceremony was attended by a team of at least 55 Vice-Presidents of the State from the agricultural sector from across the country and additional Attorney General of ICAR, where the MoU was signed by Kamlesh Patel “Daji”, Guide of Hearts and Attorney General of ICAR, Rakesh Agarwal. The team was welcomed by Program Coordinator Dr. Nivedita Shryansh on behalf of Heartful Campus and Ramesh Krishnan – Director of Heartful Campus.

The MoU aims to offer the various HET programs as jointly accredited credit courses as undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by universities and institutes within the purview of ICAR’s National Agricultural Research System (NARS) (ICAR-AU System). The courses will be free with two credits in the general curriculum. The partnership aims to collaborate on HET program offerings as Heartful campus units across India for all ICAR-AUs of 75 state universities with 2,00,000 students in the field of Agriculture.

The Memorandum of Understanding will bring all the students of the university into a meditation unit that will help in improving the outlook and approach towards humanity, relationships, ways of balancing material life and approach towards profession or profession and developing humility, love, care and closeness. to divinity. Every student will be able to connect with a Heartful Campus coach and there are at least 1,400 such coaches around the world.

The MoU aims to give students, staff, faculty, advisors of colleges, institutes and universities, and administrative staff under ICAR access to HET courses and programmes.. The courses to be developed by HET will align with education, training and research objectives in environmental sustainability and sustainable technologies in line with national education policy recommendations.

Also, internship programs will be offered to students of ICAR-accredited institutions under the agreement. Students will benefit from the Heartful Campus modules that start with Heart Meditation on their campus for the betterment and well-being of these future young people in India.

Speaking about the agreement, Agarwal said: “We believe this MoU will take the education and research of agriculture in the country to a new stage that will integrate modern best practices with sustainability at the fore and traditional knowledge. This is the first partnership of its kind between HET and ICAR. HET also earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AICTE to help students access Heartfulness resources at all AICTE academic institutions. Training has greatly benefited students even through their professions in reducing stress criteria. A similar achievement is expected from the HET Association and ICAR as well, according to a press note about the event.
