Although Lara Melanie Saget is well known as the daughter of late comedian, TV host, and actor Bob Saget, she has forged her own path apart from being the daughter of a celebrity.
She is multi-talented, as you will soon see, and there is one thing she is very aware of in everything she does – she is her father’s daughter. So, let’s find out what Lara Melanie Saget is all about.
Lara Melanie Saget’s father is Bob Saget
Not only did the world mourn the loss of Bob Saget on January 9, 2022, the Saget girls and Bob’s wife of three years, Kelly Rizzo, were devastated. Bob was 65 years old when he died in his sleep after what was identified as a blow to the back of the head, something that did not involve a villainous play, but instead a potential downfall by the comedian.
Lara Melanie Saget has taken to her Instagram to honor her father on a number of occasions. One greeting was a black and white photo of young Lara and her father, their faces touching. In it, Lara wrote, “I loved my father with all he had. He had so many reasons to be afraid of love. So many loved ones kept dropping the body. Instead of being afraid, I love more. I am so grateful to receive and give this love.”
Another touching greeting from Lara began with a photo of Bob, Lara, and her two sisters as young children, rolling and cuddling on the floor.
In a final tribute, Lara Melanie Saget describes exactly what her father meant to her. She began by saying, “My dad wasn’t just my dad, he was my best friend.” She no longer needed to say more, but she continued with another touching tribute.
Lara Melanie Saget is 33 years old and has two sisters
Lara Melanie Saget was born in Los Angeles, California on October 16, 1989. She is the middle child of three, with older sister Aubrey and younger sister Jennifer. The beginning of Lara’s life revolved around her father’s television series, Full house. The series began two years before Lara was born and ran until 1995, so the bulk of her childhood included numerous visits to Full house Designation.
Bob Saget married Lara’s mother and screenwriter and author Sherry Kramer in 1982. The two were high school sweethearts before they tied the knot. They spent 15 married years and divorced in 1997 when Lara Melanie Saget was 8 years old. Lara’s mother moved out of the spotlight after her divorce from Bob and is today a marriage and family doctor.
For some strange reason, there has been some confusion regarding Lara and her older sister Aubrey. There are many deals in which it is a twin, but this is not the case. Aubrey is the eldest at two years old, born 1987.
Lara Melanie Saget I went to Bard University, Columbia, and New York
Lara Melanie Saget excelled in school. She holds not one, but two bachelor’s degrees, one from Barnard College for Women’s Liberal Arts and one from Columbia University, and she also holds a master’s degree from New York University.
As you can probably tell, although Lara was born a girl in California, she spent her formative years east in New York.
She does yoga
Lara Melanie Saget is almost a spitting image of her father, Bob. She has the same brown locks that he has as well as the same facial features. Lara wears her hair of medium length and she stands 5’7″. She is small in stature, weighing around 120 lbs.
She keeps fit by doing yoga, which she also learned. Lara took to Instagram in early January to explain how long she’s been on it, and spoke to those who have been experiencing “epidemic fatigue.”
She wrote, “I’ve been teaching yoga for over a decade, and have learned more than I could ever imagine about teaching yoga during this pandemic. I thought the screen was going to be a foreign entity, something I can’t relate to. This screen is a mirror.” The rest of her posts can be seen below.

Not much has changed for Lara in her post-college years as much as where she lives. She has kept her career in New York, and as a successful artist, her work is often shown throughout the city. Art is her passion, and it is reflected in all walks of her life. It started before you ventured off to college and has been going on ever since.
In 2013, Lara Melanie Saget, along with her older sister Aubrey, co-founded Studio 200. The art studio is actually a traveling art gallery. While Lara and Aubrey have shown their work, group performances are different for different artists, which also means you’ll see different themes, locations, sponsorships, and media.
Studio 200 has a home art gallery based in Brooklyn, but since it’s a traveling art gallery, you’ll often see Studio 200 pop up in many locations throughout New York City and Brooklyn.
As a successful artist, Lara is not shy (and shouldn’t be) to flaunt her work. Along with Studio 200, Lara Melanie Saget has her own website detailing many great pieces of art. She’s talked a lot about what drives her to innovate and what drives her, but here on her website she really identifies ‘why’.
“My work makes the limits of logic physically visible. My practice is fueled by the belief that not all facts are absolute. Facts are, for the most part, placeholders for future facts. The deeper the dig, the more exponential reality becomes. The truth is greater than the brain will cognitively comprehend, it is infinite” . Her work is distinguished in New York, Los Angeles and other cities
If you are an art lover and find yourself in the Big Apple, you probably won’t have to search very seriously to find some of her artwork. As mentioned earlier, Studio 200 moves around town, so tracking down one of its exhibits shouldn’t be difficult. New York City isn’t the only place the talented artist has seen her work.
Her work has been shown in the United States at venues such as Studio 106 in Los Angeles and abroad at Art Ichol and Maihar in India and Wells Studio in Paris. locally (New York locally, that is) her work has been exhibited at the Fortnight Institute, New York; 80 Washington Square East Gallery, New York; Peninsula Art Space, Brooklyn; AIR Gallery, Brooklyn; and Art Helix, Brooklyn.
