RIT Athletics Preview: September 26-October 2

Women’s soccer (5-2, 0-2)

RIT lost 4-1 to No. 5 William Smith on Wednesday. First-year defender Roberta Mauger scored her first college goal in the 58th minute. The Tigers lost his 1-0 to Vassar on Saturday.

The team looks to be on track this week with a road game against Nazareth on Tuesday (September 27) followed by a Liberty League home game against Clarkson on Saturday (October 1).

Men’s soccer (2-2-3, 1-1)
The Tigers went 1-1 in the week they opened the Liberty League game.

RIT shutout Hobart 2-0, Tuesday, behind the senior midfielder’s goal Jonathan Cohen And sophomore year forward Jaden Winnall Longdon. Senior Forward Joshua Price and senior midfielder Randy Dickersbach Each had an assist. The Tigers lost him 4–0 at Vassar on Saturday.

The team will return to Tiger Stadium on Tuesday (September 27) to face Houghton before traveling to Potsdam to face Liberty League opponents Clarkson on Saturday (October 1).

Women’s Volleyball (4-11)
RIT started the week with a 3–2 comeback victory at home against crosstown rivals Rochester on Wednesday. After facing two match points by two sets, the Tigers fought back ferociously to win three sets in a row. sophomore outfielder Liv Benard 16 total kills and 12 digs as a junior setter Sydney Neff Recorded 37 assists, 4 service aces and 12 digs.

Benard tied a career-high 17 kills in Saturday’s loss to Rowan for the Tigers and added 14 digs in her fourth double-double of the season. He set career highs with 7 digs and 3 service aces. They went 0-4 in the Scranton Invitational, losing to Franklin and Marshall, Scranton, Rowan and Messiah.

The team will start its Liberty League games in Ithaca on Wednesday (September 28), followed by games against Bird (September 30), Morrisville (October 1) and Desales (October 1). Return to Clark Gymnasium.

men’s tennis
RIT competed in the St. Lawrence Falls Classic in early September. 1st year Brian Bork Reached consolation finals in ‘B’ flight singles during sophomore year Christian Berko When Gracht Moba Advance to the “A” quarterfinals.Jayanetti and classmates Max Chan Advanced to the semi-finals in the B doubles tournament.

The team will complete the fall portion of its schedule on Friday and Saturday at the ITA Northeast Regional in Madison, New Jersey.

Women’s Hockey (0-2-0)
The Tigers lost 0-2 at UConn last weekend. sophomore goalie Sarah Coe He made 32 saves in Friday’s 0-3 loss.graduate student forward Amy Dobson And sophomore year forward Athena Vasudani Each scored for the Huskies in Saturday’s 3–2 loss.

RIT will have a weekend series on Friday (September 30th) and Saturday (October 1st) at No. 14 Catmounts.

women’s cross country
RIT finished eighth out of 14 teams at last Saturday’s Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan. 1st year Abbie Nautel Finished 44th out of 168 runners on the 5km course.

The Tigers will compete in the Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday (October 1).

men’s hockey
RIT kicks off its 2022-23 campaign on Saturday (October 1) in Union. The Tigers finished 18-16-4 last season, losing to the Air Force in the Atlantic hockey semifinals.

Saturday’s match will be the first Union-RIT match since 2017.

RIT kicks off the fall portion of its schedule with the Mercyhurst Invitational on Sunday (October 2nd). This event is the first of his three events during the fall season before the program goes on hiatus until his April.
